costume

his costume played a big role in the way of how he presented himself to daisy, tom, nick and all the other people that he thought he needed to look presentable around. his costume made him look rich clean and well mannered, just what all girls want.

all the way from dressing gowns to party costumes he always had his clothes thought out really well and only wore clothed fit for the right activity. He never failed to amaze his “friends” or people he was around aof gatsby.

The props

the props were probably one of the most important things in this book.

the house the hydroplane all the butlers and the big huge cars they all played a important part to gatsby’s illusion without them who knows where he would be now.

he also kinda used nick as his prop for a small bit trying to get nick to set them up on a date because he was to scared to ask himself. If nick wasn’t there gatsby would of just sat in his house and stared at that green light for the rest of his life.

the setting of the stage

know you could take this statement one of two ways you could do the setting of the stage about how the movie was made or you could do how gatsby set up his stage (illusion).

I feel like gatsby was the kinda guy to make sure everything was planned and prepared so that his time with daisy would go exactly how he wanted it to go although some scenes in the movie and the book would say otherwise. for example the scene where daisy had to make a choice between tom and gatsby i feel like that definitely didn’t really go the way he wanted it to.

the speech and the dialog

I really liked how well F. Scott Fitzgerald nailed in the way they spoke to each other and using the old time “slang” i guess u could say. also he stayed consistent with gatsby’s “old sport” line, just keeping that throughout the story was really nice. also the structure of these sentences was different and i think they also nailed that quite nicely.

The backstory

the backstory was made really well I thought the backstory told us a lot about gatsby and help us understand who he actually was and what he did in his past. they gave a lot of detail as well to make it sound very believable. although would’ve liked to know why he had that white card, thats something I was wondering throughout the hole movie.
